Carrie Werner

Statistician/Demographer, Age and Special Populations Branch, Population Division

Carrie A. Werner joined the U.S. Census Bureau in 2005 and is currently a statistician in the Age and Special Populations Branch. Her responsibilities include the research, review and analysis of age and sex data, with a focus on the American Community Survey and the 2010 Census. She has authored several publications, including "The Older Population: 2010" and "Selected Characteristics of Baby Boomers 42 to 60 Years Old: 2006." Her research has also been published in a report for the White House Council on Women and Girls, "Women in America: Indicators of Social and Economic Well-Being."

Before joining the Census Bureau, Werner was a research assistant at Florida State University's Center for Demography and Population Health. She also conducted research at the Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Epidemiology.

Werner received a master's degree in demography and a bachelor's degree in social science and mass media communication from Florida State University.
