Chief, Census Redistricting Data Office U.S. Census Bureau

Cathy McCully is chief of the U.S. Census Bureau's Census Redistricting Data Office. Her office is responsible for coordinating the dissemination of the PL 94-171 Redistricting Data Files to the legislative leadership and the executive offices in each state no later than one year after Census Day, or April 1, 2011. Her office also is responsible for meeting the requirements of Section 203 of the Voting Rights Act by providing the determinations in a timely fashion as required by law. This will be McCully's fourth census while working for the Census Bureau. Before coming to the Redistricting Data Office, she served in the Geography Division as chief of the TIGER (Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing) Operations Branch and the Address List Review Branch. She developed the geographic programs, including the Voting District Program, in support of the 1990 and 2000 censuses.
