David Whitford is chief of the U.S. Census Bureau's Decennial Statistical Studies Division. This division oversees the statistical aspects of decennial censuses and the American Community Survey.
Whitford's background is in census evaluation, quality assurance and survey methodology. He was program manager for the coverage measurement program for the 2000 Census.
Whitford has a master's degree in mathematical statistics from the University of Maryland and lives in Bethesda, Md.
