Mark E. Wallace, Chief of Service Sector Statistics Division at the U.S. Census Bureau, oversees several major Economic Census and current surveys programs. He is responsible for formulating, planning, and directing economic statistics programs covering the non goods producing sectors of the economy. These programs cover over 500 North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) industries and many of the fastest growing sectors of the economy including wholesale and retail trade, transportation, information, real estate and rental and leasing, as well as nine additional service sectors and include several principal economic indicators, many annual surveys, myriad economic census programs, as well as special studies and research.
