Rhode Island in Focus: Census Bureau Pre-Primary Snapshot

Rhode Island, which is holding its presidential primaries on March 4, had a 2007 population of 1.1 million. The state has a higher percentage of people with a bachelor's degree or more and a higher median household income than the nation as a whole. About 64 percent of Rhode Island's voting-age citizens cast a ballot in the 2004 general election, not statistically different from the national rate.
