Summary of the Upcoming EEO 2006-2010 ACS Tabulation

Data Source

  • Based on the American Community Survey (ACS) 2006-2010 five-year data (www.census.gov/acs)

Public Release

  • Expected to be released by the end of 2012
  • Disseminated through American FactFinder (AFF) (factfinder2.census.gov)

Table Content

  • Broadly similar to the 2000 EEO Special Tabulation, but
    • some tables will include an additional characteristic, U.S. citizenship
    • all tables will include margins of error for all estimates
  • The 2010 Census occupation categories used in this file will be based on the 2010 Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) categories
  • Characteristics will include sex, race, and Hispanic origin, crosstabulated by a combination of other characteristics:
    • U.S. citizenship
    • Occupation
    • Industry
    • Age
    • Educational attainment
    • Median Earnings
  • List of Table Titles [XLS - 61k]

Geography

  • Tables will be tabulated for at least one of three geographic types:
    • Worksite
    • Residence-to-worksite commuting flow
    • Residence
  • Tables will be tabulated for one or more of the following geographic summary levels:
  • Population thresholds apply to all summary levels except for U.S. Total and States
    • Population thresholds are either 50,000 or 100,000, depending on specific table content.
    • Population thresholds are based on residence population.
