| Footnote: The estimates for the period April 1, 1990 to April 1, 2000 are provided in a monthly time series. These estimates are intercensal, i.e, they are consistent with both the 1990 and 2000 census enumerations. These estimates are derived by a conversion of the Census Bureau’s postcensal estimates for the 1990s. The conversion is achieved by distributing the error of closure throughout the decade by month by a mathematical model. The error of closure is the difference between a postcensal estimate for a census date (for example, April 1, 2000) and the census population. |
