PURPOSE

On April 6, 2005, the Census Bureau will host a Small Business Exhibition for the Field Data Collection Automation (FDCA) acquisition in the lobby of the Department of Commerce Headquarters building, on 14th and Constitution Ave, Washington, DC, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The primary purpose of this exhibition will be to provide small businesses the opportunity to interact with the Prime Systems Integrators (PSI's) that have shown interest in the FDCA acquisition.

REGISTRATION

The registration period has ended.

MEET AND GREET

The interested PSI's listed below are asked to set up tables for a "meet and greet" networking session with representatives from the small business community. We will also need you to register as well. Small businesses are encouraged to use this opportunity to present their capabilities and discuss their possible roles in the FDCA program with the PSI's. PSI's are asked to have representatives available at their table during the entire exhibition. All other interested companies are welcome to participate in the event for as long as they deem necessary.

INTERESTED PRIME SYSTEMS INTEGRATORS

  • Electronic Data Systems (EDS)
  • General Dynamics
  • Harris Corporation
  • International Business Machines (IBM)

PRIVATE SESSIONS

In addition to the "Meet and Greet" exhibition, each PSI will be allotted time to meet privately with small businesses in one of five breakout rooms (breakout schedule will be COMING SOON). When registering for the exhibition, companies will have the option of providing a short synopsis describing their capabilities relating to the FDCA acquisition along with a point of contact. PSI's may access this information via this web site to schedule meetings for their assigned breakout sessions prior to the exhibition. (The capability statements provided by the small businesses will be available on this web site no later than Wednesday, March 30, 2005.) Note - The breakout rooms may be used at the assigned PSI's discretion - scheduling prior to the event is not required.

CENSUS INVOLVEMENT

The Census Bureau does not intend to present additional FDCA information at the Small Business Exhibition. Representatives from the Department of Commerce and the Census Bureau will host and attend the event, but it is ultimately intended to be a networking opportunity between the PSI's and the small business community. Important information from the February 28, 2005, PSI Symposium, including streaming video, PowerPoint slides, and attendance information, is posted on this site.
