ANCHOR LEAD: Adoption is becoming more mainstream among American families, the Cormany family is just one of over 1 million households in the United States who have adopted children.
CUT: (Carol Cormany)
  “We felt that we could provide a safe and loving home for a child, and we had the means to do so….”
SCRIPT: And they are not alone. According to Louis Kincannon, director of the Census Bureau, many families in the United States are adopting.
CUT: (Kincannon)
  "The Census Bureau’s report tells us that slightly more than 2 percent of American children are adopted."
SCRIPT: In an effort to raise awareness, adoption organizations are calling on Hollywood celebrities like Bruce Willis to spotlight the issue.
CUT: (Willis)
  "It’s just a matter of educating people, getting the information out. Bringing the people who want to adopt, together with the kids who need to be adopted."
SCRIPT: In order to make adoption easier for families, Congress has passed legislation offering up to a maximum of 10 thousand dollars in tax credits per child to offset the cost of adoption. I’m Tom Edwards.
