Thank You to Our Partners

Thank you for making Census 2000 a success. Our collective efforts in promoting the 2000 Decennial Census reversed a three-decade decline in civic engagement. This is a tremendous achievement. With the help of over 8,000 local community partners in our Detroit region, we undertook the massive operation of completing an accurate and complete census count.

With your help we delivered the census message to every community in our region from Appalachia to the banks of the Detroit River. As a partner you provided us with testing and training space, advertisement and promotions, and most importantly you gave us a voice in your communities. You let others know that being counted in the census meant resources and recognition for the community. It took all of us working together to ensure that every man, woman, and child was accounted for.

Every time someone uses census data to write a successful grant proposal or business plan, you can be proud that your work helped ensure your community is represented and that the integrity of the data is preserved. You have helped make history by re-energizing and reinvigorating America. Such an accomplishment cannot truly be measured. But please accept this humble and heartfelt thank you for the immense and important work you have done. Thank you.
