SIPP 2004 Panel Wave 5 Employer Provided Health Benefits Topical Module - User Note for High Imputation Rates

posted 1/16/08

Statement of the Problem:

The data for the variables EAMTPLAN, EPREMINC, EPLANMED, EAMTLONG, ETIMEAMT, ERETCONT, ERETPAYS, ERETPLAN, and EENDSALA in the 2004 Wave 5 Employer Provided Health Benefits Topical Module should be used with caution due to a possible instrument error that resulted in very high imputation rates for these variables. Users should assess the value of using these variables for their individual analyses. The allocation variables are AAMTPLAN, APREMINC, APLANMED, AAMTLONG, ATIMEAMT, ARETCONT, ARETPAYS, ARETPLAN, and AENDSALA.
