Survey of Income and Program Participation Data on Same Sex Couples

The Survey of Income and Program Participation is a longitudinal panel survey of demographic information, income, labor force characteristics, and program participation in the United States with supplemental topical modules including questions on topics such as child well being, child care and detailed household relationships.

Data about same sex couples are available at the national level from 1996 to the present in the raw SIPP data. For additional information about SIPP, visit the SIPP website.

Due to small sample size these data are not shown in published tabulations on the website. Raw data files are available to data users.
