Press Release Number: CB14-TPS.12

The Public Use Microdata Sample (PUMS) files for the 2012 American Community Survey three-year statistics are now available for users to create their own tabulations. The files contain a 3 percent sample of the housing unit universe while protecting the confidentiality of survey respondents. The files show population and housing characteristics down to Public Use Microdata Areas (PUMAs), which are areas containing no fewer than 100,000 residents. Users can create tabulations through their own tabulation systems or through the Census Bureau data tool DataFerrett.
