Chief, Income Statistics Branch, Social, Economic, and Housing Statistics Division, U.S. Census Bureau

Ed Welniak is the Chief of the Income Statistics Branch in the Social, Economic, and Housing Statistics Division at the U.S. Census Bureau.  The Income Statistics Branch is primarily responsible for collecting, processing, analyzing, and publishing income data collected in the Current Population Survey’s Annual Social and Economic Supplement and the American Community Survey.  Welniak began his federal career at Census in 1978 as a statistician in the Income Branch and became chief of the branch in 1992.
