Caroline Kim is the Director for the Honolulu Small Business Development Center and serves as the sole consultant for start up and expanding businesses. services. The Center provides free consultation, business research, and free or inexpensive training.
Prior to her appointment to this position, she served in upper level management, as a consultant, and on special projects, working numerous years in Washington State government for the Departments of the Attorney General, Labor and Industries, Corrections and Licensing. Projects include Year 2000 (Y2K), LAMP (IS project,) and the HIPPA project. Federal work opportunities include USAF MWR Europe as both the business operations and then the marketing specialists where she was responsible for identifying, resolving, and training to produce self sufficient and economically viable program areas from Britain to Turkey.
Caroline served on advisory boards, executive committees and in publicly elected office. She is also a Certified Financial Planner who owned and operated a fee only financial planning business before returning to her island home in Honolulu. Initially upon returning to Honolulu she was the Executive Director for the Fort Street Business Improvement District.
