2010 Demonstration Data Products
In October 2019, the Census Bureau released a set of demonstration products that illustrated an early version of the 2020 Disclosure Avoidance System (DAS). We greatly appreciate our partners from across the country who used those products to help us identify where the DAS needs to be improved. Some of the issues we had already identified, and some were identified through that crowdsourcing process.
Census staff are working to address those issues and we will be sharing progress over the coming months. The demonstration products represent output from an early version of the DAS. We are posting updates and tools that will allow you to evaluate data fitness-for-use and to offer feedback with each successive DAS iteration. Visit the 2020 DAS Updates page for more.
The Census Bureau has a tradition and public expectation of producing high quality statistics about the United States. We are dedicated to designing a disclosure avoidance system that allows us to meet the quality standards data users expect from Census Bureau data products, while still abiding by the pledge of confidentiality that underlies the 2020 Census.
