Surveys in the New York Region

A survey is a method of collecting demographic, economic and geographic data. Surveys provide information about the conditions of the nation, states, and smaller geographic areas. During the decades between censuses, we are continually conducting surveys to produce a comprehensive overview of the United States and our territories.

The Census Bureau collects data by personal visits and telephone interviews throughout the year for over 15 different household surveys. The largest of these surveys are:
