Construction Spending

08/03/2026: New Length of Time data for Private Nonresidential, Private Multifamily and State and Local Construction are available. Go to the Historical Construction Spending Data menu on our website. Geographic Data for Private Nonresidential and State and Local Construction through 2025 can be found on the Historical Data page.

In addition, revised coefficient of variation tables have been posted for Annual Total, Annual Private, Annual State and Local, Annual Federal, and Table 4 of the May 2026 Construction Spending release originally published on July 1, 2026 to correct a processing error. No other data items in these tables were impacted.

FRED Mobile App: Receive the latest updates on the nation's key economic indicators by downloading the FRED App for both Apple and Android devices.FRED, the signature database of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, now incorporates the Census Bureau's 13 economic indicators.

The URL for the economic indicators data in the Census Bureau API (Application Programming Interface) has been updated to add /timeseries/. Examples can be found on the Developers' webpage. The old URL will be discontinued on December 31, 2016.
