Media Advisory — Census Bureau to Provide Early Access to 2009-2011 American Community Survey Estimates for Embargo Subscribers

The Census Bureau will provide embargo-period access to the 2009-2011 American Community Survey estimates that will be released to the public on Oct. 25. In addition, two new American Community Survey briefs will be available on the embargo site:
Marital Events of Selected Group Quarters Population: 2009-2011 and Multigenerational Households: 2009-2011.

Embargo subscribers will have access to the estimates on Tuesday, Oct. 23, up to 48 hours in advance of the public release.

The American Community Survey is the source of small-area estimates available on a wide range of important statistics about people and housing for every community across the country and in Puerto Rico. These estimates cover a three-year period (2009-2011) and are available for areas with a population of 20,000 or more.

Tuesday, Oct. 23, 10 a.m. EDT

Only members of the media who have applied for and received embargo access may join. See the Census Bureau’s <embargoed releases> page for more information. The embargoed information may not be published or posted online until the public release on Oct. 25.

The information will be posted in the media embargo area of the Census Bureau website on Oct. 23, at approximately 10 a.m. EDT. Only members of the media with current embargo passwords may access the information. Embargo access will end at 12:01 am on Oct. 25.
