The U.S. Census Bureau is updating its economic indicator release calendar in coordination with other agencies and the Office of Management and Budget to address the impacts of the recent lapse in federal funding. We will provide the updated release schedule as soon as it becomes available.

The August 2025 release for Manufacturers' Shipments, Inventories and Orders Full Report originally scheduled for October 2, 2025 has been rescheduled for release on November 18, 2025. For more information, see the Economic Indicators Release Schedule.

Manufacturers’ Shipments, Inventories, & Orders

The Manufacturers’ Shipments, Inventories, and Orders (M3) survey provides broad-based, monthly statistical data on economic conditions in the domestic manufacturing sector. The survey measures current industrial activity and provides an indication of future business trends.

Special Notice: Starting with the June 2025 data released on July 25, 2025, the Advance Total Manufacturing publication includes detailed data for all nondurable industries from the Manufacturers' Shipments, Inventories, and Orders Survey. These estimates are available on both a seasonally and not seasonally adjusted basis and are included in the Advance Total Manufacturing Estimates file on the M3 website under the "Latest Monthly Advance report on Manufacturers’ Shipments, Inventories and Order".
