1810 Image Gallery

Census Day for the third census of the United States was August 6, 1810. An act of May 1, 1810, amended earlier authorizing legislation and required enumerators to collect economic data in addition to demographic data. However, no schedule was prescribed for the collection of economic data. Thus, the collection of that data was so erratic that they were not considered usable.
