1920 Image Gallery

The 1920 census was conducted on January 1, 1920. For this census, "usual place of abode" became the basis for enumeration; individuals were counted where they regularly slept, not at their places of business or the locations where they were visiting. Among the new questions added was one on year of naturalization. The 1920 census counted 106 million people living in the United States.
