1950 Image Gallery

The 1950 census was the first census to count Americans living abroad, including members of the armed forces and U.S. government employees living in foreign countries. In addition, it was the first census for which a computer, UNIVAC I, was used to tabulate the results. The 1950 census counted 151 million U.S. residents.
