Texas Population Profile Map

The U.S. Census Bureau's population profile maps present a graphic overview of demographic statistics collected as part of Census 2000. In addition to a population density map, each page includes a racial characteristics pie chart, a population pyramid, and a housing occupancy rates bar chart. The map series consists of one page-sized map for each U.S. state, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico, as well as a national map.

Congressional District, State, County, Metropolitan Area, and Thematic Maps

The U.S. Census Bureau produces hundreds of maps, including those for Congressional Districts, states, counties, and metropolitan areas. It also produces thematic maps, such as population profiles and distribution of American Indian and Alaska Native populations. These maps can be downloaded here.

For maps highlighting additional Census 2000 data, see Mapping Census 2000: The Geography of U.S. Diversity.

The Census Bureau recently published the Census Atlas of the United States. The atlas is the first comprehensive atlas of population and housing produced by the Census Bureau since the 1920s. The atlas contains nearly 800 maps covering topics such as language and ancestry characteristics, housing patterns and the geographic distribution of the population.
