Announcements

Preliminary quarterly service estimates are included for the first time for Ambulatory health care services and Social assistance services.

Effective with the third quarter 2009 press release, the coverage of the Quarterly Services Survey will be expanded to include estimates for Truck transportation; Couriers and messengers; Warehousing and storage; Rental and leasing services; Arts, entertainment, and recreation; and Other services (except public administration). These estimates are scheduled to be released on December 10, 2009.

Also, beginning December 2010, the Service Annual Survey will expand publication from 30 percent to 55 percent of GDP and mimic the sector coverage of the Economic Census.
