Jerry Cooper

Jerry Cooper

Jerry Cooper worked for the U.S. Census Bureau for 27 years and retired from the Office of the Associate Director for Data Collection and Processing in 1973. Before that, he served in the Machine Tabulation, Foreign Trade, Business, Economic Operations, and Field divisions. Mr. Cooper worked on the special census of Watts in South Los Angeles in 1965, and was district manager of the special census of Trenton, NJ, 3 years later. Mr. Cooper also was a professional basketball player, starring with the Washington Bears for 6 years.
