Sales
February 2025 sales of merchant wholesalers, except manufacturers’ sales branches and offices, after adjustment for seasonal variations and trading day differences, but not for price changes, were $696.4 billion, up 2.4 percent (±0.4 percent) from the revised January level and were up 4.3 percent (±0.7 percent) from the revised February 2024 level. The December 2024 to January 2025 percent change was revised from the Monthly Wholesale Annual Revision Report of down 1.5 percent (±0.5 percent) to down 0.9 percent (±0.5 percent).
Inventories
Total inventories of merchant wholesalers, except manufacturers’ sales branches and offices, after adjustment for seasonal variations and trading day differences, but not for price changes, were $902.3 billion at the end of February, up 0.3 percent (±0.2 percent) from the revised January level. Total inventories were up 1.1 percent (±0.7 percent) from the revised February 2024 level. The January 2025 to February 2025 percent change was unrevised from the advance estimate of up 0.3 percent (±0.2 percent).
Inventories/Sales Ratio
The February inventories/sales ratio for merchant wholesalers, except manufacturers’ sales branches and offices, based on seasonally adjusted data, was 1.30. The February 2024 ratio was 1.34.
