Nonemployer Statistics (NES) is an annual series that provides subnational economic data for U.S businesses with no paid employees by industry. This series includes the number of establishments and total receipts.

NES Tables
Data tables are available on data.census.gov from 2012 to the current reference year and in print publication from 1997-2004.
NES Datasets
Tabulated data in downloadable CSV format, along with record layouts and reference files, from 1997 to the current reference year.
API
The Census Bureau’s Application Programming Interface (API) allows users to create custom queries. Users can embed these statistics into web or mobile apps.
