In late April, the U.S. Census Bureau launched an experimental Household Pulse Survey, in collaboration with five other Federal Partners, to provide weekly measures on how individuals are experiencing business curtailment and closures, stay-at-home orders, school closures, changes in the availability of consumer goods, and other abrupt and significant changes to American life during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Data are being produced and released weekly for the nation, each state and the 15 largest metro areas in the United States. Tune in to learn more about how the Federal government is collecting, disseminating and using the Household Pulse data to understand how American households are affected by COVID-19 on a socio-economic level. The Census Bureau is pleased to have collaborated on this effort with the National Center for Health Statistics, the National Center for Education Statistics, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and the USDA’s Economic Research Service.
