The Community Resilience Estimates (CRE) track how socially vulnerable every neighborhood in the United States is to the impacts of a disaster. The CRE were designed to aid local planners, policymakers, public health officials, disaster management professionals, and community stakeholders plan mitigation and recovery strategies in the event of a disaster. Population estimates by level of social vulnerability are modelled from American Community Survey 1-Year microdata, Population Estimates Program data, and Decennial Census files.
For more information about the methodology and data, refer to the CRE Datasets page.
