The U.S. Census Bureau and the Local Employment Dynamics (LED) Partnership in collaboration with the Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER) and the Labor Market Information (LMI) Institute, welcomes Kristin Sandusky as she presents, “What May Be Driving Growth in the Gig Economy?”
This webinar describes challenges to measuring the rise and significance of the “gig economy” and explores what publicly available data tell us about the prototypical gig sector – ridesharing. She demonstrates how combining these data with LEHD wage records sheds light on traits of these workers, how they use ridesharing to enhance their earnings, and the economic factors that push or pull them into gig work.
