The U.S. Census Bureau and the Local Employment Dynamics (LED) Partnership in collaboration with the Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER) and the Labor Market Information (LMI) Institute, welcomes Adam Grundy as he presents, “Made in America: A Data-Driven Look at U.S. Manufacturing Using Census Data.” In preparation for the Census Bureau's upcoming observation of Manufacturing Day, on October 3, 2025, Adam explores the manufacturing sector using interactive Census tools. Discover how this vital economic industry is shaping the nation and where manufacturing activity is happening across the country.
Adam Grundy is a Supervisory Statistician, in the Economic Management Division (EMD), at the U.S. Census Bureau. Adam began his career at the Census Bureau in 2009 in the Manufacturing and Construction Division. He worked as a survey analyst for the Computers and Electronic Products North American Industry Statistics (NAICS) and published a quarterly Current Industrial Report on the same topic. Adam moved to the Economic Indicators Division to work as a survey analyst in the Manufacturer’s Shipments, Inventories and Orders Survey (M3). He continued to work within the Computers and Electronics Products NAICS while in M3 and helped with preparing various press releases for the economic indicator.
Currently Adam serves in the Data Users Outreach and Education Branch. Adam has taken on many leadership roles including developing an online calendar for the Economic Directorate and participating in key stakeholder meetings for developing the Census Business Builder data platform.
Adam has written several America Counts articles and is dedicated to finding new ways to share economic data to the public.
Adam holds a bachelor’s degree in human studies with a certification in elementary education from St. Mary’s College in Southern Maryland.
