The U.S. Census Bureau produces timely local data on disasters.census.gov that are critical to emergency planning, preparedness, and recovery efforts. This presentation will explore the Census’s Emergency Management Hub. A central source of information about disaster areas through insightful news stories, data products, and links to related sites and resources on Air Quality, Extreme Heat, Floods, Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Pandemics & Wildfires. We will navigate data tools with mapping interfaces to understand select demographics & business, to help users identify potentially affected areas of their state, county, and community as well as current and past disaster impacted areas.
