The U.S. Census Bureau and the Local Employment Dynamics (LED) Partnership in collaboration with the Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER) and the Labor Market Information (LMI) Institute, welcome Tyson Weister as he presents, “Getting Started with the PSEO and QWI API.” This presentation explores the Post-Secondary Employment Outcomes (PSEO) and the Quarterly Workforce Indicators (QWI) application programming interface (API), a tool for accessing workforce data, including employment, earnings, and job trends. Weister will cover the API structure, key parameters, and how to construct queries. A live demonstration will provide practical experience to help users retrieve and analyze labor market data effectively for research.
Tyson Weister is a survey statistician on the U.S. Census Bureau's communications team for centralized data dissemination. In this role, he engages data users and helps them navigate data.census.gov, Microdata Access, and the application programming interface (API). Tyson holds bachelor’s degrees in economics and public affairs from Indiana University, and a master’s degree in communication from Purdue University.
