Many Census data users rely on familiar search tools without realizing that additional datasets are accessible through the Census Data Application Programming Interface or API. The Census Data API provides direct access to detailed data and flexible query options that extend beyond standard platforms. In this webinar we will give a brief overview of what the Census Data API is then focus on how to use it in practice. Through live demonstrations you will learn how to find available variables, edit existing URLs to create example API queries, and download results for use in Excel and other spreadsheet tools. Participants will have time to ask questions and will leave with practical, tips, strategies and guidance on where to find training resources on the Census Bureau website for continued learning.
