data.census.gov Usability Testing

Since the inception of data.census.gov, we have requested feedback from our users to guide us in building and improving the site. One of the ways that we have done this is through our quarterly usability testing. We have a series of tasks that participants use as a guide to walk through the site to help determine what works and what still needs to be addressed.

We know that users of data.census.gov come from a variety of backgrounds, and we want to learn as much as we can on how they interact with the site, so we rely on both novice and expert users to complete this testing.

Since we are looking for a wide range of data users, our criteria are very broad. We would like to talk with people who meet either of the following criteria:

  • Have experience, currently or in the past, using or analyzing data.
  • Use data from data.census.gov or other statistical sites for research or decision making.

If you, or someone you know, would be interested in participating in this study, please complete the eligibility survey: answer.census.gov/jfe/form/SV_cJd3MByY8RFFaQu

We will contact you via email to schedule a time for the interview. The interview will last approximately 60 minutes and will take place virtually using Microsoft Teams to video conference with data.census.gov staff.

Feel free to contact [email protected] for further information. Thank you for your interest in participating in our usability testing!
