Rose Kreider oversees the U.S. Census Bureau’s branch responsible for subject matter including demographic trends in families and households, children’s living arrangements, child care, child well-being, grandparents and grandchildren, fertility, marital status, and marital history. The branch works primarily with the American Community Survey, the Current Population Survey’s Annual Social and Economic Supplement and Fertility Supplement, the decennial census and the Survey of Income and Program Participation. Kreider joined the Census Bureau in 2000 after earning a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Maryland.
