Imputing Lot Size With Property Tax Data
The American Housing Survey (AHS) and the American Community Survey (ACS) ask respondents about the size of their lot (hereinafter referred to as lot size). Lot size is also captured in property records and tax assessment records (hereinafter referred to as property tax records). This whitepaper presents discussion and analysis that was performed to assess using property tax data to impute lot size for respondents who have a matched property tax record.
