National Urban League’s 2020 Census Black Roundtable

A native of Washington, D.C., Jeri Green has an accomplished career as a civic engagement professional.  She has held positions within national organizations and served in leadership positions for both local and federal governments.  Formerly, Jeri served as Senior Advisor for Civic Engagement, Office of the Director, U.S. Census Bureau, where she established working relationships with civil rights organizations and diverse national leaders on 2020 Census operations and policy.

In earlier Census positions, Jeri was a central voice in discussions between U.S. Census Bureau senior leadership and decennial census stakeholders, including Census Advisory Committees, census professional associations and national organizations having a vested interest in the outcome of the decennial census.  Most critical, throughout her former Census Bureau career, Jeri engaged historically undercounted communities specifically, regarding their unique challenges and needs toward achieving an accurate Census count.

As an independent Census consultant and Senior Advisor since 2017, Jeri Green has provided leadership and counsel to several organizations, (including the National Urban League), on decennial census planning and operations.  Jeri spearheaded the National Urban League’s 2020 Census strategy, including its 2020 Census Make Black Count initiative. Further, she played a primary role in establishing and directing the activities of the National Urban League’s 2020 Census Black Roundtable, comprising thought leaders, civil rights organizations, redistricting experts, state and local elected officials, and immigrant communities, all working collaboratively toward an accurate 2020 Census count.  Jeri Green currently joins several diverse Census stakeholders (2030 Census Counts campaign) in early discussions surrounding the 2030 Census.

Jeri resides in the District of Columbia, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, University of Maryland, College Park, and a master’s degree in urban affairs, Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri.
