MAY 5, 2022 – The U.S. Census Bureau will release the results from the 2020 Post-Enumeration Survey (PES) for the 50 states and District of Columbia on May 19.
A webinar on “Understanding the Count: A Discussion on the Latest 2020 Post-Enumeration Survey Results” will be held to highlight the results.
This release includes:
Results will not be broken down by demographic characteristics or geographic areas within the state given the sample size for the PES and the assumptions required to make substate geographic estimates.
The coverage measurement results provide one way of analyzing the quality of the 2020 Census.
In March, the Census Bureau released national PES results that showed no statistically significant net national coverage error for the nation but undercounts and overcounts for some demographic groups.
The remainder of the PES estimates, including results for housing units and undercount and overcount rates for Puerto Rico, are scheduled for release in the summer.
