Boundary and Annexation Survey (BAS)
The U.S. Census Bureau conducts the Boundary and Annexation Survey (BAS) annually to collect information about selected legally defined geographic areas. BAS is used to update information about the legal boundaries and names of all governments.
IMPORTANT: The 2026 BAS is delayed and will begin in early February. Unfortunately, we are not able to adjust the March 1, 2026, deadline. If you have concerns about meeting the March 1 deadline, email us at [email protected].
