The SIPP is the premier source of information on income and program participation. These SIPP tables provide national data about the receipt of social security, TANF, SNAP, WIC, SSI, retirement income, unemployment insurance, free- and reduced-price school meals, VA benefits, and the receipt of child support. Program receipt is presented at both individual and household levels, and by a variety of demographic characteristics.
The COVID-19 pandemic also resulted in substantial changes in the receipt of SNAP and Unemployment Insurance during calendar year 2020. However, the 2021 SIPP data do not fully reflect this; data users should refer to detailed User Notes for these programs.
