Poverty Statistics Branch Chief, Economic Characteristics Social, Economic and Housing Statistics Division, U.S. Census Bureau

Brian Glassman oversees the U.S. Census Bureau Poverty Statistics branch responsible for processing, analyzing, and publishing poverty estimates collected in the Current Population Survey Annual Social and Economic Supplement, the American Community Survey and the Survey of Income and Program Participation. His branch is also responsible for research on alternative methods of measuring poverty as well as the measurement of well-being and income inequality.

Glassman has been author of numerous papers for the SEHSD working paper series and has presented at PAA, APPAM, and the regional economics conferences. He received his master’s degree and doctorate in Economics from Temple University.
