Christina Bijou is a survey statistician in the U.S. Census Bureau’s Social, Economic and Housing Statistics Division. She ensures data quality and validity for the Current Population Survey’s Annual Social and Economic Supplement (ASEC).
Bijou also analyzes and interprets ASEC poverty and income data to produce research reports, working papers and other data products. Her current work focuses on poverty, child care and health/well-being.
Prior to joining the Census Bureau, she earned a Ph.D. in sociology with a specialization in demography from The Ohio State University, where she researched the relationship between social status and health outcomes across the life course. Preceding her doctoral work, Bijou earned a master’s degree from The Ohio State University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, College Park.
