Elizabeth Poehler serves as assistant division chief of survey methods in the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey Office. In this role, she oversees teams responsible for managing changes to contact strategies, respondent materials, question content, and use of administrative records and commercial data for the survey. She also manages performance and quality monitoring of various data collection and processing activities.

Poehler joined the Census Bureau in 1998 as a mathematical statistician. She holds a bachelor’s degree in applied statistics from the Rochester Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in survey methodology from the University of Maryland. Additionally, she earned a professional certificate in project management from Duke University and has received several Bronze Medal awards from the Census Bureau.
