Katie Shantz is a survey statistician in the Social, Economic and Housing Statistics Division’s Income Statistics Branch, where she leads work on the Current Population Survey Annual Social and Economic Supplement Tax Model.
Prior to joining the U.S. Census Bureau, Shantz served as a senior research associate at the Urban Institute. Her research there focused on the social safety net, poverty reduction and tax policy.
Shantz has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California Los Angeles and a master’s degree in public affairs from the University of Texas at Austin Lyndon B. Johnson School.
