Lynda Laughlin

Chief, Industry and Occupation Statistics Branch, Social, Economic, and Housing Statistics Division, U.S. Census Bureau 

Lynda Laughlin is chief of the Industry and Occupations Statistics Branch at the U.S. Census Bureau, where she oversees the collection, review and dissemination of industry, occupation and class of worker data from a variety of Census Bureau surveys. She is also responsible for producing the Equal Employment Opportunity custom tabulation, which serves as the primary benchmark for assessing workforce demographics. Her research focuses on women and work outcomes – and occupational classifications.

Laughlin received her doctorate in sociology from Temple University and her bachelor’s degree from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
