Tiffany Yowell is chief of the Quality Branch in the Census Bureau’s Decennial Census Management Division (DCMD). In this role, she leads efforts to ensure data quality through partnerships across the division. Yowell facilitates teams carrying-out quality related activities by providing program and project management support, and advocates for the inclusion of robust quality practices in tests and production activities for the 2030 Census.
Additionally, she is the 2030 Research Federal Register Notice (FRN) Team Lead. This effort is the first time that the public had the opportunity to formally give input on planning and designing the next census through an FRN.
Prior to her current position, Yowell served as a special assistant to the DCMD’s assistant division chief of Internet and Paper Self-Response Operations. Before joining decennial, she was the production coordinator in the Population Division’s Estimates and Projections area.
Yowell has a master’s degree in applied demography from Florida State University. She also has both a graduate certificate in survey design and data analysis and a master’s certificate in project management from George Washington University – and is a certified project management professional (PMP). Yowell lives in southern Maryland, where she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and children.
