Virginia joined the Census Bureau in 2011 as a summer intern in the Public Information Office’s Media Relations Branch, where she worked on 2010 Census state-data releases and the communications campaign for the America’s Economy mobile app. In 2013, she became a permanent member of the Public Information Office where she has worked to support data collection and statistical releases of Census Bureau surveys including the American Community Survey, Economic Census and the Current Population Survey. Virginia currently oversees the public affairs and media relations activities of the 2020 Census.
In 2016, Virginia took a detail to the Office of Public Affairs at the Department of Commerce, where she served as a public affairs specialist supporting Department of Commerce initiatives.
Virginia received her bachelor’s degree in communication at Virginia Tech.
