New Statistics From the American Community Survey to Be Embargoed

What:

The U.S. Census Bureau will offer an embargo period for subscribers to view statistics from the 2014-2018 American Community Survey 5-year estimates, which feature more than 40 social, economic, housing and demographic topics, such as homeownership rates and costs, health insurance, and educational attainment.

Embargo subscribers will have access to these statistics beginning Dec. 17 at 10 a.m. EST.

The American Community Survey provides a wide range of important statistics about people and housing, such as statistics on language, education, commuting, employment, mortgage status and rent, income, poverty, and health insurance, for every community in the nation. This survey is the only source of local estimates for most of the 40-plus topics covered.

The five-year estimates will be available for all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, every congressional district, and all counties, places, census tracts, ZIP Code Tabulation Areas and block groups.

When:

Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 10 a.m. EST to Thursday, Dec. 19, at 12:01 a.m. EST. 

Interview Requests:

Embargo subscribers may interview Census Bureau experts during the embargo period. To request an interview, email <pio@census.gov>.

Embargo subscribers are encouraged to confirm their login user name and password are up to date prior to Dec. 17. For assistance, please email pio@census.gov.
